Five years ago Dr. Michelle Benoit made a hard decision of leaving her cardiac surgical residency and promised herself she would never again get emotionally attached to a patient or fall in love with someone who had no heart. Now unfortunately, her research career depends on the assistance of the man she left behind years ago, but wants her desperately back into his life and feels that she also belongs back in the operating room again.
Dr. Kyle Richards doesn’t realize just how complicated things will be working side by side again with Michelle helping her with her research. Wanting her back in his life again is a big risk for him, but isn’t she worth taking that risk this time around? Does he finally admit how he feels for her after all these years?
I found this story to be an okay read. I loved the blurb, but when I started reading the story I found myself disconnected from the characters and the storyline. I had a problem submerging myself in this story and was disappointed that the storyline moved quite slowly for my taste. Overall, this story and the characters just didn’t work for me.
